Maybe I should reconsider this counseling gig. I can't even save my own. There we were on the Golden Gate bridge and one of my very own jumped. Right before my eyes. Literally. Yes, the sunglasses you see in the picture are no longer with us. We went up to send my nephew Adron off for his Maritime Academy voyage to Chile. Waiting for his boat to pass under the bridge, I looked down at the other boats and there my glasses went. They didn't even take advantage of all the crisis phones on the bridge with the signs "there is hope." The worst part is that they fell on this little part of the bridge 8 feet down from us instead of getting in the water, so it's like I wanted to reach down and grab them. But then again, they were from a gas station on our roadtrip when we came down looking for jobs. So I let go of the sentiment and decided not to risk my life for the $10 they cost.
