San Diego

Beach - church retreat.

So I asked a kid that I've met with twice if he remembered my name. He said, "yes." I ask, "What is it?" Kid, "Carl ... or Carlton." Uh.

Had a great time in San Diego! Mick was flying around that stage with more energy than the Carl-calling kid. We made the show JUST in time. In fact, fireworks and a giant applause were triggered by our arrival. Had lots of fun with Earl and Claire. A highlight being that we ended up in the Mormom Batallion museum. We were subjected to a movie about nothing for half an hour. Jer and I agree that we would have no problem living in San Diego if we were absolutely forced to. We want to go back on the pront.

It's been awhile. No news is good news, right? It means we have expanded our social life from blogging outside an internet cafe to actually seeing real live people. Plus most of you forgot my birthday so I stonewalled you all in October.

Some highlights from "child" therapy (quotes because I often find myself playing puzzles with kids and asking them and then reasking them how many pets they have):
-An 11 year old told me "You know, you are very professional."
-I was talking to a kid about emotions. When do you feel sad? happy? mad? not really feel anything? To the last he said "when my leg falls asleep." Who can argue with that?

October highlights: going to the Bridge School Benefit with Earl, Ally, Rhoda, and Jer. Politicized, but good. Painting our living room (okay, that was November, but I am failing to remember Oct). Okay, let's stick with November - there's less to remember. We voted this week, but nothing we wanted passed. This weekend we're in San Diego with Earl and Mick Jagger. The next weekend we're going to a beach house with our church buds. Renee is up for Thanksgiving. Bart is out in December. Jer's sis and Jen's mom are out for Christmas.
